Tucked away in the mountainous region of Santa Rosa, Pride Mountain Vineyards (with its Lion King-esque name) is a serene wine country escape — a day here involves amazing wines, underground wine cave tours, a fascinating historical look at how the winery came to be, and gorgeous panoramic views of the entire vineyard and Mount St. Helena in the distance.
One word sums up Outside Lands Music Fest: magic. Without a doubt, one of the chillest (in terms of vibe and temperature but I’ll get to that later), most enjoyable music festivals I’ve ever been to. At most music festivals, there’s at least one aspect that’s undesirable – rude fellow fest-goers, sub-par bathroom situations, entrance/exit logistical nightmares, or issues with purchasing food and drink. Don’t expect any of that when you go to Outside Lands – regardless of your level of experience with these types of events, it’s completely doable and altogether a seamless weekend of music, food, and booze.
I feel like I regressed years in age during my recent trip to Yosemite National Park -- not only because I was traveling with my parents (23 going on 10) but because of the sheer, unparalleled joy I felt in our short but sweet venture into the park. There's something so pure and exhilarating about the vast wilderness of this national park that you can’t help but feel a childlike sense of glee as you frolic in meadows, gaze up at rushing waterfalls, and take in the magnificent granite mountains that surround the valley.
What do you do when you wake up on a Saturday morning in San Francisco and it is, yet again, cold, grey, and Karl the Fog is comin’ in hot?
Hop across the Golden Gate Bridge to the quaint, little bayside town of Sausalito. |
